Brazil Holds Final Training Before Clash with Argentina
The Brazilian national team held its final training session on Monday morning, 24, ahead of the match against Argentina. On the pitch at the Mané Garrincha Stadium in Brasília, head coach Dorival Jr. and his staff fine-tuned the last details for the highly anticipated showdown.
Before the session, the coach spoke at a press conference in the stadium’s media room and confirmed two changes to the starting lineup.
“We have four necessary and already defined changes. We are making two for the start of the match. Matheus Cunha is coming in for João (Pedro), and Wesley will replace Vanderson,” he stated.
The squad will bid farewell to Brazil’s capital and depart for Buenos Aires this afternoon. Arrival in the Argentine capital is scheduled for 6:30 PM (local time).
Brazil Match Details
Brazil will face Argentina on Tuesday night, 25, at 9 PM (Brasília time) at the Monumental de Núñez in Buenos Aires, in the 14th round of the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers. In Brazil, the classic encounter will be broadcast across multiple platforms of Grupo Globo (Rede Globo, SporTV, and Globoplay).
In the World Cup qualifying standings, the Brazilian Team currently sits in third place with 21 points, while Argentina leads the table with 28 points.
Both teams are coming off victories. Last Thursday, 20, Brazil defeated Colombia 2-1 in Brasília, while Argentina secured a 1-0 win over Uruguay in Montevideo on Friday, 21.
