Vitor Hugo Transfer to Atlético Mineiro, a new chapter in his career
Brazilian defender Vitor Hugo was officially presented at Arena MRV on Atlético Mineiro‘s birthday, marking an exciting new chapter in his career. The player, who previously showcased his talents at Palmeiras and most recently played for Bahia, arrives at the club with a proven track record of success.
Welcomed by Football Director Victor Bagy, Vitor Hugo’s presentation highlighted his impressive career trajectory. Having previously worked with coach Cuca, the defender was part of the Palmeiras squad that clinched the Brazilian Championship in 2016 – a testament to his winning mentality.
“It’s a great honor to be presented at this incredible club on its anniversary, celebrating 117 years of glory,” Vitor Hugo said during the press conference. “It’s also a privilege to be introduced by Victor, a true icon of Atlético Mineiro‘s fan base. I hope to make the fans very happy with my work here.”

Experience
The defender joins Atlético Mineiro on loan until December 2025, bringing international experience from his stints in Italy, Turkey, and Greece. With his proven defensive skills, Vitor Hugo is expected to strengthen what is already considered one of the best defensive systems in the Brazilian Serie A.
